124 Trip to MV Logos Hope with UNO Kids

Written by Kuya Harvard

It was a unique experience going to MV Logos Hope ship, the largest floating book fair in the world. It was like being in another country as foreigners from different nations were there to serve. Even more interesting was the kids excitement in going over almost 5,000 different titles of books, mostly fit for kids.

MV Logos Hope has been to Cebu before going here in Manila. They will travel Subic next before going to Indonesia for the next country. It was 2 years back when Duolous, a similar book fair visited the Philippines. MV Logos will go to different countries all over the world and will most likely go back after 10 years.

The kids from UNO Kids of Manila were treated for a chicken inasal at Inasal at iba pa at Manila Ocean Park before going for a 15 minute walk to the ship. “We partnered them with volunteers, so each one was with their Ate or Kuya all the time”, mentions Ate Amy, our treasurer. After that we tasked every volunteer to shop for 1 book for their kid. Sponsors Funlipix through husband and wife, Alvin and Janet Salazar gave them a budget of 100 pesos. They also treated the kids for lunch and ice cream after the tour.
