984 Sinag's 1st Birthday with Kids International Ministries

Written by: Kuya Glenn Costales, President

One the best ways to gather family and friends together is the celebration of a child’s 1st birthday. And in our line of service, a gathering like this is made even more meaningful with the presence of children beneficiaries as a means to share one’s blessings.
Baby Sinag had a celebration like this thanks to her wonderful parents Daddy Arjay and Mommy Dudi. Our dynamic parents were also joined by their equally fun-loving family and friends who were very much game for our active afternoon.
Almost 50 kids joined our kuyas and ates as we grouped the participants into 6 teams. They were aptly named Team Awesome, Happy, Actious, Yehey, Cool and Dreamers.
Our competitive afternoon kicked off with a bit of mental contest – Math Trivia. The teams simply had to figure out the answer to the trivia questions and fun equations we gave. While seated down in their circles, the teams answered by having their members corresponding to their answer quickly stand up. We worked our way from easy trivia to a little more complicated calculations. Math may not be a subject everyone’s particularly fond of but this game certainly made it a little more enjoyable.
The next game simply called for a more physical affair with our Paper Cup Relay. Each team member received a straw which they bit in their mouth. They then used it to pass a paper cup from one end to the other. A total of 6 paper cups completed the team’s task for each round. There was not a lot of strategy involved here and it was all a matter of grit and speed. The rounds ensued with much laughter and cheers which pumped up our volunteers and kids even more.
With the games out of the way, our resident story teller Ate Dyali took the mic for an inspiring and vibrant storytelling session. This allowed our kids to settle down while being able to listen to a values-filled narration.
It was finally time to eat and the volunteers prepared a truly hearty meal. A children’s favorite fried chicken, a vegetable burger, more chicken lollipop and a refreshing ice cream awaited our deserving participants. The prizes for the kids were also handed out during this time as we wound down to the final part of the program.
All eyes were finally on Baby Sinag as the whole room sang her a ‘Happy Birthday.’ The kids received their parting gifts from our energetic dad and mom pair before we took a final group photo.
With supportive and generous parents, we wish Baby Sinag an abundance of radiant love and selflessness. Thank U! for a beautiful afternoon.
