Sendle brings Christmas early to New Faith Family Children’s Home
Christmas came early for kids of New Faith Family Children’s Home as their ates and kuyas from Sendle spent a day of gift-giving with them last November 17.
Sendle is an Australia-based logistics company that takes pride in being the first 100% Carbon Neutral delivery service in Australia. This year, the company’s Manila team composed of 16 ates and kuyas decided to give back by celebrating the season of sharing with kids from New Faith Family Children’s Home, an orphanage created to raise and connect kids to Christian families for adoption.
The event started with everyone playing Bahay-Baboy-Bagyo, where the day’s sponsors played the role of Bahay and the kids baboys. From that game, four groups were formed: Team Yey, Team Hypebest, Team Golden States and Team Power Rangers.
To kick off the activities, the kids and their new friends shared their favorite food, hobby and pet as part of their getting-to-know session.
Then, Ate Shiela and Ate Danica gave a little talk to welcome everybody and to introduce their company. They also asked the kids why they think they visited, to which the kids answered, “to give happiness, to share blessings and to party!” And the party indeed began!
The first game played was stack-me-up where teams had to form pyramids of different sizes using 45 cups. The kids from Team Golden States seem to be pro’s at the game as they won every round even without the help of their ates and kuyas.
For the second game, kids got to play pass-the-charades where they had to act out animals and the last one in line would have to guess what the animal is. The game proved to be quite tricky as kids guessed bird instead of butterfly and kangaroo instead of horse! In the end, Golden States again won, making them the leading team among the groups!
Recharged after sharing an early lunch, the kids showcased their talents by dancing Deep Cries Out.
Kuya Kris even gave a fun, Inigo Pascual-inspired performance, singing Dahil Sayo with the kids as his back up dancers.
Kuya Raffy then gave a short but very inspiring talk to the kids starting with Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord.” He shared his life story and taught the kids how they should trust and give thanks to God despite the hardships.
Before ending the event, the kind team of Sendle handed out gifts to the kids and also granted the home’s wishes of fans and storage boxes.
Thankful for their visitors, the kids gave their ates and kuyas big, warm hugs before leaving.
We saw how happy the kids were to meet new ates and kuyas. Everyone enjoyed a day of sitting on their new friends’ laps, hugging and even becoming monkeys latched on their ates and kuyas’ arms!
We are very thankful to Sendle for choosing to give back this Christmas. Quality time is already enough as gifts for the kids but Sendle made it more special by holding fun games and sharing good food.
Thank U! And we wish you a Merry Christmas, from Uhappy Events and New Faith Family Children’s Home.
