They say love can make the world a better place. True enough, Mr. Leo and Ms. Susi wanted to spread the love to the kids in Living Faith in Jesus Ministry in Las Pinas City last December 19, 2017. The day started with a warm up game of “The boat is sinking” and all the kids, together with the nanays and the lovely couple, excitedly ran around the room and grouped themselves together and this made 5 groups which will be their group for the rest of the day. They share their name and Christmas wishes to each other and they were challenged to name their group in line with the Christmas theme. The 5 groups came up with Team Merry Christmas, Team Candy Cane, Team Star ng Pasko, Team Reindeer, and Team Snowman.
After getting to know their team members, the groups played the first game called “Paint me a picture”. The kids were asked to re-enact scenes from various activities like going to a theme park, strolling around the mall, and attending Simbang Gabi. All groups did an amazing job but Team Reindeer showed extraordinary talent and skill and won the game. The second game is Relay wherein all group members are required to pass a ring one by one using a popsicle stick held by their mouths. This was a fun and tricky game for the kids as well for the nanays and Mr and Mrs Abay. All the teams were at a good pace but Team Snowman was the fastest among the five and won the game. The third game was “Charades Relay” wherein a representative is given an animal to act (like frog, elephant, lion, etc) and he/she has to pass the actions through their team member one by one without saying a word. The last person in line shall run and say out loud what animal his/her members are doing and the first person to finish and get the correct answer wins. It is very entertaining to watch as the kids and volunteers are all over the place as they reenact the animals given to them. The fastest and most accurate group won which is Team Star ng Pasko.
To recharge after the fun and exciting games, the kids watched a Magic show and also learned a few tricks or two, Thanks to our wonderful Magician . Right after, the kids prayed before the meal started. The kids enjoyed their meal as well as the nanays who volunteered. After feasting the delicious meal, they were given school supplies and candy canes from Kuya Leo and Ate Susi. And in exchange, the kids gave the couple the warmest and biggest hugs they could offer and a lot of thank you’s.
As they are about to part ways, Kuya Leo and Ate Susi gave several reminders to the kids to do good in school, to always obey their parents, good health, and most importantly to pray and never forget Him. It was indeed a nice and heart warming experience to both the Abay Couple and the kids. Love can do great things. Congratulations Kuya Leo and Ate Susi and Thank U!
