Last Saturday, April 7 was the beginning of one of April’s long weekends. A time for Beach Trips & Road Trips,instead, Kuya Dominic and his colleagues opted to spend a fun filled day with 25 Kids from CCT, Pasay.
Centre for Community Transformation Group of Ministries or CCT is composed of 16 ministries that reach out to street families, children, youth, micro-entrepreneurs, farmers, fisherfolk, factory workers, informal workers, tribespeople, overseas Filipino workers, and the communities at large.
As we waited for Kuya Dominic & his friends, we started our morning warming up by singing and dancing with these super energetic children from the community.
We started the program by introducing our Ates and Kuyas to the kids. They’ve been asked to share their names and their favourite Marvel character. We found out that most of the Ates seem to like Captain America.
After introducing them, we grouped them and the kids into Five(5).They had some time to bond before we started our first game. Kids also shared what super powers they want to have. They were asked to create a Marvel group name and a short cheer for their Teams.
We have Team Spider Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Black Panther and Iron Man.
Our first game was ‘replacements’, where groups will try to enact/immitate a photo given to them. In each group,are members who will be blockers, runners and builders.The victors of this game are tied with Team Spider Man and Team Black Panther who both got the highest scores.
Then, our second game was ‘shoot me’, where the groups tries to shoot all 5 pingpong balls into the cups. This time, team Hulk got all the scores and won 2 consecutive times.
After having fun lively games, we shared our meal with our Ates and Kuyas and distributed their school supply gifts to the children.
We ended our morning with their dance number, big hugs and joyous smiles.
