November 14 was a celebration of solidarity and hope. U! Happy Events in partnership with Kythe Ateneo had a full day of fun with 100 Kids battling with cancer and volunteers from 20 organizations.
Kythe’s advocacy is to improve the quality of life for pediatric/ cancer patients by uplifting their spirits and strengthen hope. They alleviate the anxiety of patients and their families by promoting optimum growth, development and helping them cope with challenge of hospitalization.
Kids Hope sent the message that we can be the HOPE of these cancer Kids. As young as they are, they will fight and have each day of their life as a miracle.
This event brought together other organizations through a Booth Fair- AkoMismo, Cancer Warriors, World Youth Alliance, HelpersAnonymous, Rotaract, K.I.D.S., UST Unicef, UP Volunteers for Children, UP Ecosoc, UA&P Haranya, UA&P Dulaang Roc, DLSU Englicom, DLSU United, DLSU Unisto, Ateneo Swimming Team, Ateneo Basketball Team, Ateneo ARSA, Ateneo PMSA and Ateneo Health Sciences Society!
Kids Hope also had a Be Brave Get Shaved booth as an act of oneness with the cancer community. More than 30 people got their head shaved! There was also a variety show that featured performances from various artists, testimonials, wishes, magic show and other activities that gave Hope for kids.

1145- Welcome and Grouping- get to know
1150- Freedom Wall
1200- Lunch
1215- Opening of Be Brave Get Shaved booth
1220- Profile of Kythe/ U! Happy Events
1230- Kids speech/ Wishing speech
100- Kid’s performance
135- Magic show
200- Booth Fair opens/ Variety Show
330- Closing- balloon release, surprise for Kids, closing.
“best part of Kids Hope was the buddy system. We were able to pair the Kids and their Ate and Kuya for the whole day!” says Ate Natalie. 🙂
