Check out pictures from our first major event as a group! We took a bolder step in volunteer work after doing 4 small pocket events last December of 2006. This time we got 120 volunteers on board to partner with 100 kids from Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid headed by a young volunteer herself, Kritzia Santos.
The kids come from Payatas area. An area still lacking much facilities to equip a kid for a better life. “We currently have tutoring programs, feeding and gift giving opportunities in the site”, says Ate Kritzia. Kuya Harvard rallied a number of his friends as well together with Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid volunteers. “Most of the people we got to invite are young people, mostly early 20’s”, mentions Kuya Harvard. “I think we are on the right track in tapping young people in doing more for kids and their communities”, he adds.
The event was simple but truly enjoyable for the kids and the volunteers. We went to a kids museum called Museo Pambata. It has kid like structures and displays to delight a kid to understand science and wonders more. After the trip we walked to Chinese Garden in Luneta for lunch, games, magic and Jollibee!
