1159 JCI Manilena’s Avengers Night with Little Lights Ministry

Written by: Ate Char Tan, President-External
Everyone was looking forward to watch the much anticipated movie Avengers: Infinity War. It was the opening night and all the cinemas at Promenade was buzzing with fan goers. Cinemas were filled with block screening of different companies. JCI Manilena had their own private screening and they sponsored the tickets of the children of Little Lights Ministry. Established in 2006, the ministry is headed by Pastor Joseph and his wife sister Janette. Little Lights Ministry reaches out to the marginalized children in the communities in Pasig City. They provide assistance in children’s learning as well as values formation and their spiritual well-being. Our partnership with Little Lights Ministry started in 2010 and we’ve had 74 events with them to date.
JCI Manila has been sharing their blessings by giving opportunities to the children to watch blockbuster films. The last couple of screenings from JCI Manilena were Star Wars The Last Jedi in December last year and Spiderman Homecoming in July. We also watched Disney On Ice Show with JCI Manilena in one of our previous events.
The children of Little Lights excitedly headed to the cinema of Promenade Greenhills. For their early dinner we had burgers and drinks with the kids. JCI Manilena also gave snacks and treats to the children. Before the start of the movie the kids were able to take photos with Captain America and Black Widow. They were so excited they had their photos taken in groups. The kids were so focused as we watched the latest installment of the Marvel franchise. There was no short of action scenes as everyone held their breaths as to which superhero was going to make it.
After the movie the kids had a group photo with the members of JCI Manila. We thank them once again for inviting us to a fun evening.
