Hitachi Elevator Philippines Corporation (“HEP”) partnered with U! Happy Events to help HEP facilitate their Corporate Social Responsibility activity. GK Ave Maria, a community based in Tanay, Rizal, was the chosen beneficiary.
This event also marked our 1000th event in the last 11 years!
HEP was represented by 50 employees with at least one representative from each department from Human Resource to Installation. Mr. Jhon Yeo, President of HEP, was also in attendance.
The event started off by planting four trees within the GK community. Then we grouped 70 children from the community with our Ates and Kuyas from HEP to get acquainted with each other.
HEP wanted to raise awareness on elevator and escalator safety so we tapped Kuya Rich, a Readers Association of the Philippines awardee and Catholic Mass Media Awards recipient, to engage the kids. We had a wonderful story time with Kuya Rich on the adventures of Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle in his quest to buy groceries in a five-story mall.
After the story telling, we had Jollibee Chicken Joy and Spaghetti for lunch. Even the parents joined us too!
We capped the day by giving out bags, water jugs, and other school supplies to the kids.
We also celebrated another occasion in the event. The day also coincided with Mr. Tetsuro Ono’s birthday. He is HEP’s Vice President.
True to Hitachi’s slogan “Inspire the Next”, HEP has inspired these children to innovate from within and make the world a better place.
