387 Chinese International School Kinect Dance Party with Little Lights Ministry

Written by Kuya Harvard

So far we had 3 international schools sponsor events for marginalized children. We look forward to continue having more of their students reach out with us. Kuya Spencer Kang, Korean, volunteered with us before. He then spearheaded and convinced the school and his classmates to fund an event. Amazing how some of our partnerships start.

The beneficiary last Saturday was Little Lights Pasig. They traveled quite a bit to visit Chinese International School in McKinley, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. It was so much worth it. The students and kids easily jelled together. Maybe it was youth or simply each one’s willingness to share their time.

After a round of getting to know questions, we jump start things with our fun filled entertainment. Magic is a staple when it comes to creating amazement. Kuya Jhonnel, one of our newest magician did not disappoint. For every trick, happiness abound all over the place.

It was our first time to do an Xbox Kinect dance party. It was an instant hit! We got to invite the core team to try it out first. Kuya Matthew Chua overwhelmed the others by getting a score doubled that of the rest. Maybe we should get him to dance ice breakers in the future? What do you think?

As the teams were divided into five teams, they all took their turns to dance different pop hit songs like Pound the Alarm by Nicki Minaj, Gentleman by Psy and Where Have You Been by Rihanna. We get them scored through the points on screen and how game the back up dancers are too.

After a filled carbonara and peanut butter sandwich, we got to distribute school supplies.

Last part was our customary group photo! Before saying goodbye for now, we got the kids to hug the students. Thank you for all who took part of this awesome time. Another one soon!
