895 Ate Tiffany and Kuya Andrew Celebrates with Gawad Kalinga, Laura

Written by U! Happy Events’ Staff, Ate Michaela Maligaya
Two days after the celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth, we have one ate who celebrates her birthday as well–Ate Tiffany Maralit from Makati. Together with U! Happy, ate Tiffany went all the way to Gawad Kalinga at Taguig to eat, play and love with 25 kids. Kuya Marvin Arcajda was also there to support ate Tiffany’s cause. Some volunteers, kuya Justin, ate Moz and ate Kylie also tagged along.
To make the kids, ates and kuyas more comfortable with each other, a few minutes to have a little chat with one another. They were divided into five groups with the agenda of sharing some personal information about themselves and the best part of their Christmas. Some said that their favorite was having their family come together, some said it was receiving the gift they wanted.
Kuya Harvard prepared his newly invented games that has never been played yet. First in line was Blow Me Up. Each member of the group was given a deflated balloon. The group must imitate the size of the model balloon each round; every member must blow and measure the size of their balloon. First group to have their balloons inflated having the same size of the model balloon, wins. Everyone was laughing all throughout the game because of the different shapes and sizes of their balloons when blown with air.
Next was another first from kuya Harvard; the Paper Clip Math. Each team was given 60 pieces of paper clips. Mathematical problems where given by kuya Harvard. The team that got the correct answer by clipping together the paper clips forming a chain with the right number to represent their answer won the game.
Last was the Paper Cup Relay. The goal was to pass the cup around using a straw clipped on each member’s mouth. First to finish the race wins!
After the mind-and-body exercises, the kids, ates and kuyas shared their snacks from McDonald’s; cheese burger and fries. Perfect for merienda!
Before it was called a day, ate Tiffany gave away water tumblers to the kids that they can use during their school days. A few photo-ops, hugs and thanks, and the day is done. Happy Birthday, ate Tiffany! Thank you for sharing your celebration with U! Happy and GK kids.
