208 Ate Stella Celebrates with Tahan Tahanan

Written by Kuya Harvard

We have been frequenting Tahan Tahanan in the hopes of being a witness to the kids health getting better. We are hoping even that they won’t be in the center anymore when we go back. Halfway homes like Tahan-Tahanan exist for kids who live far away from hospitals and have limited or no resources for treatment.

Our partnership has been fruitful in the past 3 years. Our sponsors and volunteers have been instrumental in providing financial and emotional help to these kids battling cancer.

Ate Stella Pastores-Esquivas was referred to us by a friend of our Vice President for External, Ate Jo-e Villagarcia. We encouraged our core officers to connect us to more individuals and companies to fund events or donations programs to our long list of partner beneficiaries.

In this event we got to invite o Posh from Alitaptap Story Tellers to give a lively and inspirational story. The book “Ang Mahiwagang Vioin” mentions the power of a miracle to change one’s life. We echoed the same value to the parents, volunteers and the kids. “Let us believe in miracles, God is a big God”, Kuya Harvard mentions.

After a hearty lunch, we got to do two games. The first was Bahay, Baboy Bagyo. The game encourages the participants to get to know each other. The second was Caterpillar relay. Both games also had lessons which was shared by Kuya Harvard that day! 🙂
