Ate Mary and Her Family Celebrate with Pangarap Foundation

Written by: Kuya Carl, Project Coordinator
One afternoon in Pangarap Foundation, a home for young boys, received a visitor in the form of Ate Mary Chong and her family, here to celebrate the birthday of her child. Ate Mary and her family are the sponsors for today’s event and as is customary, they were brought to the front to introduce themselves by Kuya Harvard, the host for today’s event.
After dividing the sponsors into groups with the children, Kuya Harvard started off with some games, such as Fax Machine, wherein the groups formed a line and attempted to pass a “figure” by drawing it on the backs of the next person without speaking. After a couple of rounds of games, Kuya Harvard moved on to the next activity, a Storytelling Session by Kuya Jay, followed by a Ventriloquist performance by Kuya Mardox, wherein his performance was a healthy mix of comedy, values, and learning. Lastly, Kuya Japox took over, teaching the kids how to dance, showing them not just steps to a dance, but things about dance in general, such as practice, motivation, and attitude.
After a tiring dance session, wherein both kids and volunteers danced at one point or another, food was served to all the groups, allowing them respite and to relax from an afternoon’s worth of tiring activities.
All throughout the event, Kuya Joseph was at the sidelines, serving Ice Cream to both the children and the volunteers, making the sweet tooths happy and bringing smiles to their face, while a nearby photobooth allowed the kids and the sponsors to memorialize their experience today and take it home with them to remember.
Ate Mary and her family had one last surprise in store for the kids, a school supply giveaway! Each kid received a gift from Ate Mary and her family that they could use both at home and in school. We thank Ate Mary and her family for celebrating with Pangarap Foundation today and wish them well on their journeys ahead!
