The friends of Ate Lyn made sure that this year would be a memorable one for her. Last Saturday, they invited 25 kids from Jesus Loves the Little Children Foundtion to celebrate Ate Lyn’s birthday at Riversprings School, Pasig City.
Ate Lyn and her friends Ate JM and Kuya Marco decorated the gymnasium of the school with bright-colored banderitas and a banner that says, “Happy Birthday, Ate Lyn!”. The kids were then grouped into five for the ice-breaker. Each group came up with a group name that represents an island in the Philippines. Everyone even came up with a cheer for their team!
The first game was to be able to shoot tennis balls into small paper cups in the shortest time possible. The kids were very energetic in playing this game that the balls were just bouncing all over the place! The second game was to create banderitas from raw materials distributed by Ate Nikki. The little ones had glue on their hands and faces but they were all smiles when they raised up their finished banderitas for Ate Lyn to see.
Ate Nikki then led an origami art workshop. The kids were taught how to make a whale. Everyone had fun because not only was this workshop interactive, they were also able to bond with their Ate Lyn, Ate JM, and Kuya Marco!
After singing a very lively birthday song to Ate Lyn, the kids were given loot bags with candies and school supplies. They even shared a big birthday cake with Ate Lyn. Photos were taken while everyone shared a birthday meal together. It definitely was one birthday that Ate Lyn will never forget.
