It was another fun and engaging morning for the kids of the National Children’s Hospital in Quezon City last Saturday, September 29. About 15 kids from the 3rd floor misc ward joined our volunteers and friends of the sponsors, Ate Leslie and Kuya Jon, to celebrate Ate Leslie’s birthday.
The morning started with fun games led by Kuya Harvard. The kids were entertained by the Make-a-Face game where they were asked to act out how they will react given a certain scenario. Everyone was laughing when the sponsor volunteers also joined the game and acted out their own interpretation on the heartbreak scenario. All kids were given story booklets and loot bags after the fun games.
The second game required everybody to roam around the place to get to know one another. For this portion, everyone was given five strips of paper. The rule was to play rock-paper-scissors with another participant, and whoever wins gets one strip of paper from his opponent. Everybody roamed around the third floor misc ward to get as much paper as possible! At the end of the game, one kid got 15 strips of paper and another volunteer got 11! They both got prizes from Kuya Harvard. Happy, the official U! stuffed toy, was given to the kid who got the most number of paper strips after the game.
After this, the sponsors and volunteers distributed stickers, muffins, giveaway toys and food to the children. While eating, the kids sang a birthday song to the sponsor, Ate Leslie.
We would like to thank the kind hearts of Ate Leslie and Kuya Jon, together with their friends and officemates, for sponsoring this event. The kids of the 3rd floor MISC ward of the National Children’s Hospital had an enriching experience with all of you!
