299 Ate Hiroko Celebrates with New Faith Family Children’s Home

Written by Kuya Harvard

Kuya Samuel Gates created an event and got two of his friends to the the same. He visited New Faith Family Children’s Home right on Christmas day last December 25, 2012. Same day last year, Ate Claire Leatherbarrow visited Precious Heritage Children’s Home in Antipolo. Now, Ate Hiroku Kepu, recently celebrated her birthday here. Its a delight to know how one gets to inspire others to volunteer and support children.

Ate Hiroko gave the liberty to Kuya Harvard to conceptualize an event. Since we had a number of visits here, he decided to do something different- Larong Pinoy. Some of us probably played them growing up. Last Saturday we had Tumbang Preso and Agawan Base as our games. We did customize it for simplicity and for more participation of both kids and the volunteers. The photos show game faces on. Some were very competitive!

After the games, we had Yellow Cab treat. We distributed pizza, pasta and chicken. The children had a mouthful. Some volunteers gave up their craving so they can have more. Ate Hiroko distributed school supply sets right after merienda. She looks forward to come back soon together with more friends. Hey, she might even inspire volunteers to Create Thier Own Event. Thank U! Ate Hiroko! 🙂
