Ate Althea Celebrates with IT Tender

Written by: Ate Issa, U! Happy Core Member
Even if Christmas already ended, it is still the season of giving as long as the year hasn’t ended yet. And what more better way but to celebrate it with friends and families. It is December 27, 2018, Ate Althea Montano and her family is still in for another season of sharing, especially because it is also her birthday.
It was a sunny afternoon in IT Tender, and kids were lined up when the U! Happy team, Ate Thea and her family arrived. They were all excited to share fun activities with their Ate and Kuyas again. Truly, we’ve rounded up the very best Christmas activities to help keep the kids be entertained and full of the Christmas spirit throughout the season.
To start off, 28 kids were divided into 5 groups. Introduction to Ate Althea and her family were done and they made their own team names from the groups namely Team Jesus, Team Mama Mary, Team Angel, Team Santa Claus and Team Star.  We had 3 games, first one was make me picture. In this game, a group is given a chance to see a photo. Kids will be lined up and they will write the pictures in each other’s back. The last person will write the picture in the papers given by Ate Hannie from U! Happy. Then our host, Ate Amy, reveals to the group what he/she is looking for. As soon as the game started, noise filled the air. They were all very competitive. All wanted to win. Finally, Team Santa Claus headed by Kuya Tim won the game.
Next game was make me a picture. In this game, groups will creatively utilizes all members to create a scenario given to them. They have to be in still mode. And so Ate Amy called out Christmas season scenarios such as Simbang gabi, Noche Buena, and Christmas Caroling.  Again, Team Santa Claus won in this game. The kids from the team were all given prizes. The last game was Fit in the Island game. In this game, the team leaders should be able to fit the entire group in a small paper. It was a game full of screams and laughter. Some fell flat on their faces, while some stripped off their small papers. Finally, Team Angel led by Ate Thea won in this game.
Then it was time for a little snack. Packed food were then distributed to the participants and they all ate it heartily while sharing smiles and stories. Ate Thea also brought toys for the kids which were then distributed by the Ates and Kuyas. The kids were seen to have huge smiles on their faces. Afterwards, the group had a photo op, and we sang happy birthday to Ate Thea. She was very happy. Thank you Ate Thea for your generosity and love for the kids. This surely made a big impact on their lives. We hope to see you again in our next events!
