It was almost Christmas and our event bookings for kids have been piling up. It’s indeed a season of reaching out to children that our either abandoned, neglected or orphaned. It’s about making them feel that they too deserve a merry Christmas.
Our sponsor that day was Charma Olidan, a balikbayan from Dubai. It’s her tradition every year to give back whenever she visits to our country again. She came with a number of family and friends that day to give smiles to kids of SOS Children’s Village.
SOS is a place for orphaned, abandoned and neglected children and children in extreme difficult circumstances to belong to a home and family, where competent and responsible SOS Mothers and co-workers provide unconditional love, inspiration, support and encouragement for these children to take their place in society, enriched with their God-given talents, and contribute their share to the progress of the human family. In each SOS Children’s Village, each child finds a family, growing together with BROTHERS AND SISTERS in the same HOUSE, under the love and care of a MOTHER who raises him as her own.
It was December 7 and we had 25 kids of different ages joining us for an afternoon of games like Pass the Ball and Doctor Quack Quack. I also had the opportunity to join them to see the captivating bubble show.
With all the kids face painted, we proceeded to have a small feast of all time favorite, Jollibee. Sometimes, sharing food together means more when we do it out of love.
After all our activities were done, Ate Charma and her group helped us distribute her school supply gifts. She also gave groceries for the use of the orphanage.
Thank you Ate Charma for never forgetting that children indeed are valuable and should be loved.
