213 Corazon Roxas Foundation’s Origami & Arts with Puso sa Puso

Written by Kuya Harvard

It was yet another fruitful Sunday afternoon encounter with kids from Puso sa Puso Foundation. We are thankful to partner, Corazon Roxas Foundation for this opportunity once again. The team composed of core team, volunteers and media first met at the Manila Hotel lobby.

After orientation team went to Bgy. 105 covered court in Tondo Manila. We met Sister Frances, her team and the community kids for the first time. The agenda after the set-up was our usual pairing with the volunteers and kids. The day’s activity was divided into 4 parts. First was the Bring Me Art game. Partners team up to draw first the right object Kuya Harvard was asking for.

Next was draw your future activity. We had a team of kids and a volunteer describe how they see their future. The medium used were crayons and a board. The much awaited Origami workshop followed. It was headed by Kuya JB and Kuya Ronnie, both talented performers and art enthusiasts. Everyone was into it. The kids though challenged by the art of folding paper, showed patience and excellence. The volunteers got to share some of their skills too.

Last part was eating together! We had merienda shared with everyone as they the kids and volunteers chit chat away on what transpired that day. Thanks to our sponsor, we were also able to give away school supplies and art materials so the kids can continue their Origami. 🙂
