395 MSCI’s Cooking Workshop with UNO Kids

Written by Kuya Harvard

Christmas is fast approaching. Most Filipinos head to the malls or to Divisoria to do their Christmas shopping on weekends. Some stay at home to avoid the chaotic traffic in the Metro. While others chose to spend their Saturday afternoon with U! Happy Events.

Sponsored by MSCI, an event with a Bubble Show and a Cooking Workshop was organized with UNO kids in Bahay Tuluyan.
MSCI employees (around 30 of them) were paired with the kids. They were then distributed into 5 groups to get to know more about their partner kids.
The next part of the program was the bubble show. The kids were in awe while watching Kuya Allan perform his tricks and skills with the bubbles. The highlight of the show was when some of the kids were asked to go inside a huge bubble.

The Cooking Workshop, led by Chef Paul Samson (of The Cookery Place), was our main event. The kids and volunteers were again ushered to their respective groupings. Chef Paul did a great job teaching the group how to cook Garlic Longganisa Pasta with Kesong Puti and Herbed Fried Chicken. Since knives and the stove are off-limits to the kids, they were in-charge of the herbed chicken (mixing the flour & herbs, beating the eggs, dipping the chicken in the egg).

After feasting on the dishes that the groups prepared, we gathered everyone for a group photo to capture the happiness in their faces. 
Before the kids received their school supplies kit from MSCI, they wrapped their Ates and Kuyas in a tight hug to show their gratitude for a fun-filled afternoon.
