278 Life Skills Cananga, Leyte

Written by Kuya Harvard

This is the second event on day 1. You may check our previous link on the first event with kids here: Kids Workshop Cananga, Leyte

Ate Jane Lacap lead the team in providing different life skills that the mothers can either use at home or as a livelihood program. We had yema, pastillas and mango jam for food. We had a few volunteers take turns for hands on. Our highlight was the make-up. We bought each one a full make-up kit and had them learn it on the spot. The mothers were all giggling and happy as they start putting on lipstick, eye shadow, blush on and the like. The make-up was our way to remind the women that they are beautiful despite of what happened.

Since we took our time as we waited for the donation to arrive, the morning to afternoon activity also pave the way for interaction and sharing of stories. The life skills team were also composed of Ate Desiree Uy, Ate Joey Torrefranca, Ate Claire Leatherbarrow and Ate Carmel Villongco.
