281 Ateneo’s Volunteerism Week

Written by Kuya Harvard
U! Happy Events participated with the Council of Organizations of the Ateneo and the Office for Social Concern and Involvement Volunteers for Ateneo Volunteerism Week. Each year, they help partner communities as well as create avenues where students can promote and support their different advocacies.
In their effort to engage the Ateneo student body to be aware of the vision of a better society for others, they had their first ever Volunteerism Week. It was indeed a community building event dedicated to encourage and educate the culture of volunteerism to the whole Ateneo community. This event was held from January 6 until January 10, 2014 inside the Ateneo grounds.
Kuya Harvard, founder and chairman of U! Happy Events was also given an opportunity to empower students on a talk called getting your hands dirty. It focused on being selfless and taking the time to reach out. “There is always a reason to volunteer, and we have all have a responsibility to do so”, he mentions.
