307 Ate Sharlyn’s Baking Workshop with Tuklasan

Written by Kuya Harvard

We were able to convince Ate Sharlyn Kaw to sponsor our baking campaign at Tuklasan. It is our second of hopefully a long series. On our first event we got a donation for a big oven and materials. Our team wanted to continue using these for succeeding related workshops.
Last time was banana bread loaf, cupcakes and chocolate frosting. This time was hinting more on creativity and adventure- s’mores pizza. We had marshmallows, chocolates and graham crackers to form a dessert pizza. The kids and volunteers even took the time to design it together. We also learned the chocolate variation of cupcakes.

Ate Christine “Kittin” Constantino again took helm in teaching. She was interactive, patient and hands on. She runs her own business, Kittin Food and Desserts. It was a sweet time learning from her expertise.

On top of baking, Kuya Samuel Fuentes volunteered to do a short and funny puppet show at the start. He contacted us through Kuya Harvard’s radio interview. More than entertainment, he also shared the gospel.

It was a Sunday afternoon well spent. 50 kids from Tuklasan and Barangay 20 were blessed with a number of people who showed selfless hearts to serve and impart learning. If you wish to do a workshop with our 61 partner beneficiaries, you can Create Your Own Event as well.
