949 Ate Coco’s Pirate Patch with Haven for Children

Written by Core Team Leader, Kuya Joms Lapira
Coco’s parents knew that happiness is better when it is shared.
Mea and Enzo Virata chose to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday with the kids from Haven for Children in Alabang, Muntinlupa. The pirate-themed celeration was graced by family and friends of the Virata Family. 30 young boys aged 8-12 years old joined the fun-filled event.
Coco was dressed as a mermaid, while her young guests were dressed as sailors. The boys from Haven for Children were also in it as Ate Blanca, one of our resident Art Instructors, taught the children how to make a pirate hat, an eye patch and a telescope from art paper! Mermaid Coco also made the party more magical with a bubble art display. The group also played various relay games.
There were three different islands wherein pirates and sailors could land to get their treasures: a snow cone island, a fishball island, and a photo island. The snow cone island was the most popular among the three booths. They have blueberry, blue lemon, rootbeer and lychee flavors! The unlimited fishball island also proved to be an experience for the kids as most of them do not have the opportunity to have this savory street food. The kids flocked the photobooth towards the end of the program to have a souvenir of the whole experience.
We are grateful to the Virata Family for their generosity. This act of kindness means a lot for the young boys of Haven for Children. If you wish to sponsor an activity like Mea, Enzo and Coco, please send us a message through our contact page. Thank you!
