910 Philharmonic Orchestra with UNO Kids

Written by Vice President for Internal, Ate Charmain Tan
This evening we invited the children of UNO from the barangays around the Leveriza area to watch the spectacular performance of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). We have been doing events for the UNO kids since 2012 and we’ve seen a lot of them since they were little. The adorable Jefferson, Tyrone, Jessa, together with the rest of the kids, joined us for this wonderful performance.
PPO’s 34th concert season opened in September of last year. There have been special performances since it opened featuring the music of Beethoven, Mozart, A. Dvorak, De Falla, and many others. There were also featured Filipino musicians as guest soloist. Last January 20 we watched with the children of JD Salvador, which featured Maestro Fukumura and Filipino violinist Diomedes Saraza, Jr. This evening, the program was conducted by former PPO’s musical director Olivier Orchanine featuring the music of P.I. Tchaikovsky, J. Haydn, and D. Shostakovich. The kids all excitedly headed into the lobby as the conductor Olivier Orchanine was holding an interview and answering a few questions from the audience, who have mostly been patrons of the program. The children got to thank Ms Lei Ganaden for giving us the tickets for tonight’s show. As we headed to our seats the children excitedly watched as the musicians did another spectacular show. Everyone attentively watched and applauded at the end of every song. After the show ended the kids thanked us as they told us to visit them again soon.
