933 UP Volunteer’s Children’s Fair

Written by President, Kuya Glenn Costales
While we’re not putting together events for kids and volunteers to gather, we also take time to appreciate and contribute to the initiatives of other organizations reaching out to marginalized children. Last Sunday was such an occasion as we participated in another run of the Children’s Fair organized by UP Volunteers for Children (VFC). The Children’s Fair is an annual event that features different activity booths (mostly by students) for kids to enjoy. It allows young volunteers to be kuyas and ates to the kids throughout the entire event.
This year, 100 kids from Meritxell Children’s World Foundation and Manila Boys Town joined the festivities at the UP amphitheater. The different booths that welcomed the kids consisted of a cup cake booth, games and others more. U! Happy Events’ featured a Face Painting and Balloon Twisting activities.
Soon enough, kids were lined up at our booth for our professional artists. Kuya Eric was doing the face paint while Ate Divine was twisting balloons. It was truly a colorful afternoon with Kuya Eric painting a plethora of portraits like superheroes (local and international), flowers and even names. Ate Divine on the other hand was doing her inspired balloon creations.
We had fun interacting with the kids and volunteers as they queued up in our booth. Thank U! once more to UP VFC for making us a part of this event.
