It was another invite from one of University of the Philippines organizations, UP School of Economics Student Council 2015 – 2016 (UP SESC). It is the student government of the University of the Philippines School of Economics (UPSE), mandated to develop the holistic capabilities of more than 700 students of the UPSE.
Since 1965, the UP School of Economics has been promoting the highest standards of excellence through its legacy of educating the brightest young economists, and dedicating its research to facilitate critical understanding of the Nation’s most pressing social issues. Through its 50 years of academic excellence and social relevance, the UP School of Economics has become a beacon of Economics education and analysis in the Philippines.
One of the initiatives under Students’ Rights and Welfare (STRAW) that the UP SESC had was this STRAW Fair. It was held at the UP School of Economics Walkway. The STRAW Fair was a two-day event where students are to learn about the different services offered by non-government organizations, as well as the different advocacies that they could help and give support to.
The Fair was an avenue where students can further exposed to the issues confronting them and society, and we believe that this would be a great way for our organization to forward its advocacy to more people, especially the youth, and hopefully we gain in support and membership.
