878 St. Peter Apostle’s Christmas Outreach

Written by U! Happy Events’ Staff, Ate Michaela Maligaya
Our tiny friends from St. Peter the Apostle Kindergarten in Quirino, Manila, opted to have their Christmas celebration a little bit extraordinary than then usually do. 45 kids from nursery and kinder department of St. Peter invited their fellow younglings from the neighbor community to join them in their school to play and have fun. 60 children from the community were blessed by gaining new friends and had the chance to play with them.
For our morning stretching, kuya Rich gathered the kids in front and asked them to repeat after him and do some arm, hand and finger actions. He told an energy-boosting story about Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle who went up and down the hill to visit each other’s houses.
Our in-house Magic Trickster, kuya Kobe, entertained the kids and even their parents and teachers with his astonishing magic tricks; birds flew out of a piece of cloth, candles multiply in a blink of an eye, and tables float in the air. He also called two kids to volunteer and shared some of his top-secret magic and performed in front.
To maximize the over-flowing liveliness of our little friends, a game of Pass the Ball was played where everyone participated. Even teachers had fun passing and tossing with the kids. Balls flew in the air as the music kept playing along with the tiny laughter of the children. After the game, kuya Rich told another story to cool everyone down, a book from the Adarna House: Si Pido Patago-Tago.
As the day neared its end, the kids from St. Peter the Apostle gave their new friends from the community gifts such as toys, school kits, coloring books and crayons, loot bags full of sweet treats and surprises. Shirts, fruits and other dental kits were also distributed as prizes for the raffle.
At their young age, these kids have already instilled in their hearts one of the values that they can carry with them until they grow up—selflessness. They learned how to give and share without asking for anything but in return, they made their fellow kids celebrate Christmas with much joy. And the best gift everyone received was the gift of friendship.
