With the holiday rush and the many additional things to attend to this Christmastime, it is an inspiring thing to know that there are companies who still take intentional time to celebrate the season not just for themselves, but for others to blessed through them. It is even more inspiring to know their desire to bring blessings to those who are celebrating the season not in their homes, but in a hospital.
Such was the case for ate Jemelyn and her colleagues at Ring Central, who reached out and partnered with us for an outreach last December 19 at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center. Our ates and kuyas started the morning by gamely introducing themselves to the 25 children with us that day, entertaining them with dance moves and going all out to make them smile and laugh. The moment in itself was a heartwarming sight. To lighten up the mood in the hospital and to build greater rapport between our volunteers and kids, we also played a game called Pass the Ball, with our volunteers and kids grouped together in teams so they could bond and get to know each other better.
Adding to the morning’s entertainment was kuya Koby, our beloved U! Happy magician, who doesn’t seem to run out of magic tricks to display to the kids and kids at heart! This was definitely a delight for the children who have been spending much of their days in the hospital – and brought joy to their faces. Our ates and kuyas also made sure to serve the kids food to refuel them during mealtime, and they took the time as well to know more about the kids and even their parents.
As the program came to a close, our Ring Central team gave their gifts to each of the children, while the children in turn gave warm hugs to their newfound friends who came to bring Christmas to PCMC. Thank you so much Ring Central for your generous hearts!
