857 Rillo Family Celebrates with Philippine General Hospital

It has been part of the Filipino tradition to start early preparations for Christmas holiday. The moment the calendar hits the “Ber” month, you would already see houses lighting up, star parols hanging everywhere, and a bunch of Santa Clauses all over the place. For the sponsor family, one new way to celebrate their Christmas was to share happiness with the kids of Philippine General Hospital.
The day still fell within the month of November, but the beneficiary kids were already surprised by their new Santa Claus–the Rillo Family. They decided to host a mini gathering for the 50 kids who were undergoing medications and special care from PGH. The Rillos, together some of their companions from their office, a few volunteers and the rest of U! Happy family played, sang along danced with the kids. Some parents and guardians participated as well.
Kuya Harvard started the Christmas party with a short introduction and dance number from the Rillos Family headed by Atty. Elmer. A few minutes were given for everyone to get to know each other a little; time to share one’s favorite color, food and Christmas character. Then the kids and parents/guardians played Bato-Bato-Pick where Charles, one of the bibo beneficiary kids, emerged as the champ by collecting 22 sticker points for winning every battle.
After a very hyped activity, everyone was asked to settle and sit down on the floor for a song performance from guests Honey Love and Bebe Rhiz. The ladies showcased their gift in singing their own compositions. Next, ate Jolly shared a short story titled “Just Add Dirt” which taught the kids about taking care of their body by keeping it clean.
The generous sponsors gave the kids a lunch treat from Jollibee and distributed tons of fruits and loot bags with toys, sweets and arts stuff. The celebration ended up with picture taking, leaving smiles on everyone’s faces and permanent happiness in each one’s heart.
