I was happy to represent once again a talk for young people last March 3, 2016 at the campus of Philippine Normal University. It was their Y’ers Volunteers Summit 2016. We also had a booth to display our opportunities to the students.
College Y Club is a program under Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) concerned with the proper development of college students particularly in the field of Christian democratic leadership. CYC programs are geared towards the preparation of youth for competent and responsible citizenship.
This year was a big time for the country for the reason that significant events and challenges will take place this 2016 such as the conduct of National Elections, Senior High School transition of K-12 and major preparations for Disaster Risk Management. Hence, nowadays is the best time to call for citizens to contribute and realize their roles in dealing with the demands of the year.
Considering the challenges of 2016, the College Y Club of Philippine Normal University hosted a Volunteers’ Summit that aimed to inspire youth volunteers of YMCA from various schools through testimonial talks of accomplished volunteers and expand their volunteering opportunities through the presentation of different civic groups advocating for Environment, Culture and Education and Good Governance.
