711 Phi Lambda Delta Sorority’s Children’s Fair Year 2

Written by Kuya Harvard
For the second time in two years, we got involved in another worthwhile project of Phi Lambda Delta, the premiere sorority in the UP College of Medicine. Since its founding in 1969 the Phi Lambda Delta has shared in the vision and mission of the College of Medicine to produce a community of doctors who possess a heightened social consciousness through a firm commitment to excellence and leadership in community-oriented medical service directed especially to the underserved. We do share common values, right?
This year, the service arm of the sorority extended awareness once again for children with special needs with an event called: Children’s Fair. It was located at Luneta Park’s playground. It was a half day event aiming to raise awareness, increase education and forward the advocacy concerning children with special needs. More than anything else, this served as an opportunity for the children to enjoy in a healthy and interactive environment with their Ates and Kuyas.
The event was filled with a lot of food, prizes, activities and happy memories catering to the children, the sisses, as well as the partner organizations like us. Phi Lambda Delta also hosted an educational seminar for the parents of the children during the festivities.
