889 One Planet Ops Celebrates with Habitat for Humanity

“The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.” – Baha’u’llah; this is the philosophy of our ates and kuyas who sponsored today’s mini Christmas party. They all belong to One Planet Ops (OPO) which, according to their founder and chairman, Payam Zamani, “exists to create and invest in Internet based business that have a significant promise for success while attempting to run these businesses in a humble spirit of sustainable service to humanity.” In embracing this philosophy, a few members of OPO team decided to prepare a humble jamboree with the children from Habitat for Humanity in Taguig. 25 kids joined 20 ates and kuyas from OPO.
To make everyone feel more comfortable, kuya Harvard started off with a short activity. Kids, ates and kuyas were divided into 5 groups. A piece of paper and colored pens were given to each. The kids had to draw what they wanted to be when they grow up and the oldies had to draw their current engagement. Some kids wanted to be doctors, others wanted to be teachers, a chef or a basketball player.
After the icebreaker, what else is next? Game time! The first one played was In or Out. Each team was given a hoola hoop. For each round, kuya Harvard gave a category and instruction whether the member should be in or outside the hoola hoop. The member who belonged to the category either went in or out the hoop. First group to finish wins.
Next game also involved the hoola hoop. Each group formed a line, holding each other’s hand from one end to another. The goal was to let the hoola hoop pass through the group’s human chain without breaking the line. What made the game more exciting was that the groups were all competitive; the ates and kuyas eager to win for their partner kids. So everyone was fully energized and gave their 100% participation, even eyeing on other groups to check if they were cheating. Group 4 won the game by finishing the fastest. Group 5 also won the bonus round. For special round, kuya Harv called one member to represent their group. They were asked to make the hoola hoop dance around their waists. The last man standing earned prizes for all her team members.
The OPO team distributed their surprise gifts to the kids before the celebration ended. Loot bags full of goodies were given to each kid—there were notebooks, pencils, rhyme books and other school kits inside.
Through this simple act of giving and sharing, our ates and kuyas from One Planet Ops personified their philosophy by treating each other equally, helping those who are in need, and reaching out to those who are less fortunate, as we are all but part of one world, one country.
