Currently, Qurino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC) is one of the 5 hospitals we get to visit regularly. Its different when you take time from a special day like this and spend it with kids battling with different kinds of illnesses. We did this too last 2009. We would probably do it as a tradition moving forward.

The parents of the 40 kids were all smiles when we took our first step inside the ward. The kids on the other hand did not have a clue yet. Some of them were taking a nap, some were being attended to by nurses, and some just resting. We wanted to come in there and make their Christmas merrier. As you can see in the photos, somehow or some way their Christmas in the hospital got exciting.

Kuya Harvard kicked of the program by introducing the number of volunteers present. He then got to disburse them to be partnered with the kids and their parents. We encourage everyone to take the time to gain a new friend. Know new things and discover something interesting about each other.

We had a short program but it was filled with fun activities. We had Christmas card making! Everyone was into it. The volunteers were guiding, recommending and helping out in designing cards. It was a meaningful sharing of words as well to the families present. Right after we had an interactive story telling by Ate Posh from Alitaptap Story Tellers. The title of the story- “Ang Pambihirang Buhok ni Raquel”. 🙂

We distributed story telling books after for a more intimate sharing. Each one had a different one from our partner Adarna Publishing. Ate Micaela took the time to sing Silent Night after. The singing part was touching as the crowd joined in with the song. It was indeed a Merry Christmas.

Thank you to Corazon Foundation for sponsoring this event! Thank you as well to Ate Princess and Ate Micaela for providing additional food and gifts to the families. 🙂
