221 Ate Marife’s Magic Workshop with We Care Foundation

Written by Kuya Harvard

It was our first time to do a Magic workshop with kids. Our group is shifting to more workshop based events so we can emphasize the value of learning and skills. Kuya JB, our board member is also a magician by profession. He volunteered to waive his usual fees to reach out to the kids from We Care.

We Care Barangay Outreach is a ministry of Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) Eastwood whose primary advocacy is to transform homes into Christ committed families through a holistic program bannered by values formation seminars using Biblical truth as its foundation. Their mission is upholding the roles of the parents in the transformation of families and barangays in becoming communities of Christ committed followers.

Our main objective in this outreach is to build confidence to the kids. As they learn the tricks, they will be excited to perform those among their families and peers. We even invite selected kids to perform in front with matching sounds. Another emphasis is practice. Kuya JB mentions the need to practice to be good in magic and to be able excel in everything else.

Besides the workshop, we had gospel sharing from Kuya Roli. He now heads We Care and is a long time partner of U! Happy Events. We started partnership through Back Street Kids, also an outreach of CCF. He emphasized the value of having a real super hero in their lives.

To end the afternoon in a happy note, we had our Happy Dance! It was good that many volunteers came to assist in the activities and reach out to the kids. We would like to thank Ate Marie and her company for funding this event. See you guys on the next workshop! 🙂
