152 ShaRED & LEON’s Lamesa Eco Tour with Backstreet Kids

Written by Kuya Harvard

One of Kuya Harvard’s church mates, Ate Rona messaged us for a Create Your Own event, months before this day, August 26. Talk about preparation and excitement for an event with kids. Their group ShaRED is a start up group in San Beda College of Law. They also partnered with another group from the same campus, LEON. Ate Rona considered partnership with us because she believes we have the know how in doing events. Well, we hope we proved her right.

The event was set in Lamesa Eco Park, one of our outdoor recreation venues for kids. We have done events here in the past. The day started with partnering with kids from Back Street Kids Next Generation, Payatas Chapter. “There were more volunteers than kids”, says Kuya Matthew, one of our newly installed board members. “It’s good to see a lot of Ates and Kuyas willing to share their lives with kids”, he adds.

Next was a Eco Tour of the 38 hectare property. While that was on going, the organizing team was setting up for the next set of activities at Ipil Hall. 75 chairs was set. Tired from a 40 minute walk in the park, we settled for a Magic Show first- hosted by one of our regular magicians, Kuya Coby.

These are the things we did after. We ate, we played a game, we had story telling, we danced. Overall we conquered Lamesa Eco Park with laughter, smiles and learning from each other. Thank U! to our partners. 🙂
