254 La Mesa Eco Park Tour with Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid

Written by Kuya Harvard

Our sponsor, Ate Dominique Migraso initially wanted to do tree planting to celebrate her birthday. Since there were no more sites to plant in the area, we resorted to an ecological tour and games at La Mesa Eco Park. She turned 28 and in turn blessed 28 kids from Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid in Payatas.

Based on the photos, the kids had the time of their life. They were all first timers and curious. The tour was a fun way to discover and learn more about nature. The string of 3 games we played made them come alive and get competitive with their partnered Ates and Kuyas, mostly Ate Dominique’s close friends.

Before we played, we took the time to interview all the volunteers and asked them to share their names, favorite artist and to perform a dance move. Not many danced well but the point was to engage and make the kids more comfortable to them.

2KK or Kapatid is composed of volunteers from high school, college and young professionals who spend their Saturdays with the children in Payatas. Our projects range from teaching values and catechism, tutoring, integrated and enrichment activities, field trips, medical-dental missions, special events for holidays, fund raising and more.
