815 Kuya Joaquin Celebrates with National Children’s Hospital

Written by Kuya Harvard
Kuya Joaquin just turned two and through his parents, Ate Mean and Kuya Jeffrey he is able to be an instrument of blessing already to children in need. There has been a growing interest in outreach activities as alternative to birthday parties. We have witnessed a lot of these being implemented through U! Happy Events.
It was quite a warm afternoon when our team arrived at National Children’s Hospital. We turned it warmer with our presence of happiness. We tagged along volunteers with a plan to give a burst of smiles and laughter not only to kids but to their guardians.
Our team gathered everyone first for a Magic Show by Kuya Jepoy. He made it not just amazingly fun but also up close and personal with an interactive element to it. We got Kuya Joaquin to participate in one of the tricks as well. These were followed by a series of rounds from our volunteers giving out story books to share and read with another, masks to be designed and colored, food and even prayers of healing.
For our final pit stop, I got most of the crowd to come back to sing our little boy a Happy Birthday. It was also the part where we bid goodbye to a memorable afternoon.
The parents even extended a cash donation to the hospital in the hopes of getting the children additional assistance they needed. Thank you!
