830 Kuya Dennis Celebrates with White Cross

Written by Kuya Harvard
It was such a meaningful Saturday for both the children of White Cross and for sponsor, Kuya Dennis’ family and friends. Having been doing outreach events like these in almost two decades, I don’t get tired being a witness in being a witness to wonderful interactions between the children and volunteers.
This very old institution started way back in 1937 and shows in its interiors. The facade though does tell countless stories of love and hope given to children in all those years. White Cross welcomes to its fold children of poor unwed mothers, of physically incapacitated parents, of prisoners, of victims of rape or incest. White Cross provides temporary haven for these children.
Thanks to birthday celebrant, Kuya Dennis and Ate Shar these children got tons of worthwhile donations and also an opportunity to enjoy as they got to play with volunteers and watch a magic show by Kuya Koby. The delight in seeing the children’s genuine smiles is truly one of life’s greatest moments.
After a simple feast of Arroz Caldo and Lumpia, the kids got individual gifts as well and these were distributed by young kids from Kuya Dennis’ friends. It took awhile to gather them for a big picture taking but that became the symbol of pure joy that day.
* We blurred photos of the children for their protection.
