330 JCI Ortigas’ Re-painting with Gawad Kalinga Caliwag

Written by Kuya Harvard

It was the third partnership with JCI Group and the first one with the Ortigas chapter. As we continue to merge efforts in the welfare of children, we look forward for more in the next months and years. In fact another happens on June 21, a story telling workshop with kids of Tahanan ng Pagmamahal.

We started the day welcoming the volunteers and introducing them to the kids. After which we proceeded for action right away. We grouped them into 4 groups and assigned them to different areas of GK Caliwag Phase 2. After an hour or so, around 12 houses were newly painted. You can see in some photos the remnants of hard work! Most if not all had paint in their bodies.

A well deserved lunch followed and then a game to highlight heroism was hosted by Kuya Harvard. The same teams were tagged to compete with each other for Paint Me a Hero. Each team had the show the best picture of what a hero should do. These were done through 4 main scenarios: relief effort, U! and the environment, there’s fire and superhero saving the Philippines. Only one team emerged as winner and we gave them story books as prizes.

JCI Ortigas headed by their President, Fitz Pabalan proceeded to distribute school supplies. Thank U! 🙂
