Ignite: Pay It Forward

IGNITE! Unleashing the Youth’s Potential aims to remove barriers to greatness, open doors of opportunity and sustain the positive flow through networking.

Kuya Harvard was invited to be one of the speakers of Ignite. The topic he focused on was something he is really passionate about- volunteering. He got to emphasize and push why we should pay it forward and reach out to others. He used two particular people as an example- Efren Penaflorida, 2009 CNN Hero of the Year and Pastor Bill Wilson, founder of Metro World Child, the largest Sunday school organization in the world. Kuya Harvard was joined by some members of the core and 300 young people in the audience. The event was held at Fluer de Lys auditorium in St. Paul, Manila.

HR Youth Convention was the organizer. Ignite was initiated by students and created for students. They envisioned a convention which will equip, empower and energize students of today into the new world of work. They were able to achieve that with an organized event.

Other relevant topics discussed that day were (1) Landing your dream job and getting paid for it (2) Being better than your best – The quest and conquest of life-long learning, and (3) What Awesome Nerds Do and How to be a Cool Professional, (4) Labor Law made Chewable.
