1103 Golden Cape Celebrates Christmas with We Care Foundation

With Christmas day having come and gone, most of the days after are usually spent resting from all the festivities and preparations that the day has brought, with everyone making most of the season to get together with friends and loved ones. That is why our hearts were tugged last Christmastime when Golden Cape Caterings expressed their desire to spend one of their post-Christmas days reaching out to the underprivileged, namely the bubbly kids at We Care Foundation, who definitely needed not just physical blessings, but a dose of love and joy!
We trooped over to Libis on the afternoon of December 8 with our Golden Cape volunteers, hearts full from each one’s respective Christmas festivities, and ready to give back to 30 kids from We Care. We started off the day with our customary Getting-to-Know, which allows the volunteers to introduce themselves to the kids in a fun and unique way so that the children could easily warm up to them seeing how excited their ates and kuyas are to intentionally spend time and celebrate with them. We then grouped the volunteers with the kids into smaller teams and proceeded with exciting and unique games! This definitely got the kids excited and everyone’s competitive side shone through as each group vied to win. It was a delight seeing the kids light up as their new ates and kuyas cheered them on and joined in on all the action.
To bring entertainment to the children, our volunteers also invited in some clowns, who not only brought comedic delight and funny antics but also shared to the audience an amazing display of magic that drew much wonder and surprise to the kids! Of course, no celebration would be complete without mealtime, and so our volunteers took the time to share stories and get to know the kids more as they eat with them in their groups.
Adding to our team’s generous surprises, and much to the kids’ happiness, the kids were also given gifts before the program ended! We capped off such a meaningful time with the group photo, and it was evident as they bade each other goodbye that the children and their ates and kuyas enjoyed each others’ company and warmth. Thank you to our sponsors for taking time and choosing to share your blessings to those who need it most!
