402 East West Bank’s Cinderella with UNO Kids

Written by Core Team Member, Kuya Japs Paragsa

It was another inspiring treat for the UNO kids last Nov 29 as they experience Ballet Philippines’ own version of Cinderella. This activity was made possible by our sponsors and volunteers from East West Bank who equally enjoyed the show.
Before the actual show, the kids and volunteers met at Jollibee Harbour Square. As the volunteers and UNO kids arrive, they were grouped together and spent some time to get to know each other and share their favorite fairy tale story and/or character. Cinderella was a runaway winner among the UNO girls and the female volunteers.

After that, the UNO kids and volunteers shared a wonderful lunch together while taking “selfies” and group pictures in between. Once everyone has eaten and settled, a quick “arrange yourselves” game was facilitated to further acquaint the kids with their Ates and Kuyas.

As we prepare to leave for Cultural Center of the Philippines, you can see the anticipation and excitement from everyone. With their assigned Ates and Kuyas, the Uno kids enjoyed the whole show together and were generous enough to show their appreciation as soon as the show ended.

But their experience did not end there. They also had an opportunity to meet the cast of Cinderella and take pictures with them, something that everyone was looking forward to after the show.

Just like in previous U! Happy Events, the activity will not end without the warm hugs of the kids given to their Ates and Kuyas and the well wishes of the volunteers to the kids. Gauging by the smiles on their faces, it’s safe to say that we have succeeded in making them happy.
