On August 12, 2017 JCI Alabang partnered with U! Happy Events for a very active dance workshop with Elsie Gaches Village.
Elsie Gaches Village, an orphanage in Alabang, Muntinlupa is home to hundreds suffering from mild to severe mental disorders. The village provides basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing, but most importantly, it attends to the special and constant needs of those suffering from such disorders. JCI Alabang, is no stranger to Elsie Gaches. Having held numerous outreach events in the village, JCI Alabang upholds its goal to create positive changes in the community.
The event of course started with a prayer and was followed by a game of paint me a picture, wherein the children had to act (and stay still) a scenario. Following this was the main event: Dancing! The children were taught dance moves and had freestyle dancing… which led to a dance off! It was then followed by snacks, a surprise visit by JCI Alabang’s mascots and gift giving. The event was so active and engaging that everyone left with smiling happy faces.
