256 Cups of Hope Preparation

Written by Kuya Harvard

Ate Jane Lacap introduced this program to serve food and give hope at the same time to our brothers arriving here from Tacloban.

The cups won’t be Cups of Hope without the love of our volunteers to stamp a cup to win the hearts of our survivors coming from Visayas. Each cup expresses each individual’s message for the survivors of Yolanda. We were indeed blessed to have helping hands to stamp thousands of cups that will be distributed in Villamor, Pasay tents, Hospicio de San Jose among others. Our volunteers comes in different parts from Bulacan, Caloocan, Tayuman, Paranaque and other locations. The stamping activity has provided fulfillment as volunteers felt purposeful in what they were doing. Stamping became art. The message were few but it spoke so much more.

We also took the time to prepare meals at the home of Ate Jane Lacap. Home cooked meals will lower the cost so we can serve more cups. We have prepared sticky rice chocolate porridge or champorado and other easy to cook meals since this program has started. If you wish to take part and be a volunteer, please contact Ate Jane at +639174300115.
