Core Team Subic Getaway 2013

The U! Happy Events team is growing not only in the number of events but also in our desire to be a more effective organization to our volunteers and our beneficiaries- the kids and their families. Having realized this, we got together for our very first overnight planning session in Subic last May 6, 2013.

The officers created a balance of activities for everyone. We had the right amount of formal and play. We wanted to get things done and also get the team closer. On the first day we had a beach trip and lantern flying. We used the extra lanterns from our past event, Bright Lights.

It was followed by our first session focused on profile of our group. It was an open session and we got to change some details that very night. We also had a personality test done to determine the strong and weak points of each other. The night ended with fellowship- team building games, a bit of drinks, chats and kinect dance party.

It was a very long 1st day. The 2nd day was a bit lighter though. We started the morning with the second session. It included sharing and testimonies, event day roles and functions, guidelines for the rest of the year and the Summer Musical event happening the following week. We got the team excited and committed to what was ahead of us. We hope this will enable us to really serve our target markets better.

The rest of the second day was spent going around Subic. This included shopping and merienda in a unique bunker somewhere deep in the forest. 🙂
