36 Celebration with Catechists Aspiring to Serve (CATS)

Written by Kuya Harvard

The CATS, (Catechists Aspiring to Serve) a group of catechists consists of female university students who commit themselves to share their faith and doctrine to the underprivileged children. They devote their time, rather than spend their free time to regain their rest or update themselves with the latest movies, to teach and provide various activities to the children in the depressed areas.

They go all the way to their designated catechism sites: Oranbo School every Wednesday at 12 PM, and Barangay San Antonio every Saturday at 1:30 PM. During the summer and semestral breaks, the catechists teach in the rural areas or in the other urban areas so as to extend their reach to the other children who thirst for knowledge. Other subjects such as English, Math, Sports and Arts and Crafts are also catered to the young children.

We met them last December 19 for a celebration together with a number of their teachers. It was a first partnership and certainly not the last. The festivities was held in 3 classrooms of Oranbo Elementary School from 930-12nn. They were around 160 Happy Kids from grades 2-5 all excited for the activities. The games they had centered on both fun and spiritual learning with a little bit of arts and fashion! 🙂

The day’s sponsors include Krispy Kreme and U! Happy Events.

We continue to do what are task in this foundation- reach Kids so we can bless them and provide them opportunities for a better life. We do this through U! Volunteers who are willing to spend time or dole out funds for their future.

Let’s continue to make it happen. Watch out for our future partnerships! 🙂
