191 Capitalife Celebrates with Children’s Joy Foundation

Written by Kuya Harvard

It was indeed a celebration last February 23 as 27 kids from orphanage, Children’s Joy Foundation and 163 kids from Toro Elementary School gathered for a range of activities with 45 volunteers. Our generous sponsor Capitalife made sure the kids had an event to remember.

This event happened through our board secretary, Ate Malou’s initiative. She referred us to Ms. Andrea Alzatea and her team last January. What was an initial small event became our biggest create your own event by a company or individual to date. Capitlife donated also Php 150,000 worth of goods and cash. It includes educational fund, TV, medicines, vitamins, school supplies, toiletries, shirts, shoes, bags and socks. They cheerfully gave what Children’s Joy needed.

We used the box system concept in this event since the volunteers outnumbered the kids present. It enabled the kids to stay at their designated area the whole time. Together with their Ate’s and Kuya’s they did all the activities we had there. They were around 30 kids per box.

It was jam packed event. We had art activity to start. Each kid had one crayon and had a share in the collage about the future. Then we did our series of 3 cup games with the volunteers facilitating for the excited kids. Ate Mikkie followed it with great singing performance. She even sang “Gangam Style” in a different and milder version. Kuya Nate was with him to do the strings. Next we had Kuya Kobe with his usual amazing sets of magic tricks.

The program also included variety of performances from Children’s Joy Foundation including a song in Hebrew. Note that the owners of Capitalife were Israelis. After listening and watching, the kids and volunteers themselves danced with Ate Nikki and team to our theme song, Happy! The kids got their set of amazing school supplies after they ate their merienda.

Like we said, it was indeed a celebration of life. We hope you can take part in our next event. So you wont miss out, please subscribe to our website, by typing your email in our Subscribe to U! button in our home page. Thank U! Capitalife and our volunteers!
