1108 Ate Venice's Birthday Celebration with Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid, Escopa

The start of the year is often an exciting time for everyone, as we look forward to new beginnings, a fresh start at fulfilling goals and resolutions, and improving ourselves and our relationships. They also say that whatever you do at the start of the new year will be carried out for the rest of the year. If there’s any truth in that, then we’re looking forward to more amazing displays of love, joy and generosity from our event sponsors ate Novie, kuya Billy and their daughter Venice, as they celebrated Venice’s birthday with children who are in need of blessings the most.
That is why last January 6 we trooped over to Escopa to bring joy and excitement to 30 kids of Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid, or 2KK, as ate Novie reached out to us with a desire to do an outreach as ate Venice welcomed her 8th birth year! It was a bright morning made even brighter by the warm smiles of all our volunteers – ate Novie and Venice’s family and friends. We began the morning with a fun getting to know, so the 2KK kids could warm up to their new ates and kuyas. We then grouped them into smaller teams for our games, and for more intentional bonding time.
The excitement arose as we played games, and it was delightful to see both the kids and kids at heart enjoying and doing their best to win with their teammates. The competition was very tight as we played “Pass the Ball” and “Ping Pong”, two of our unique U! Happy games especially crafted by the team. After the energy expelled via the games, our volunteers then served the kids their meals and ate with them, getting to know the 2KK kids deeper. After mealtime, ate Novie and Venice had a surprise for the children – they were given lootbags and balloons! It was heartwarming to see our birthday celebrant giving away presents and displaying the value of generosity at such a young age.
To cap off the awesome morning we greeted Venice a happy, blessed birthday and sang her a song as she blew her candle. We then took a group photo, and the kids bade their new ates and kuyas goodbye with warm smiles and tight hugs. Thank you ate Novie, kuya Billy and Venice for choosing to celebrate with us!
