153 Ate Stef Celebrates with Virlanie Foundation

Written by Kuya Harvard

They say if you fail to plan you plan to fail. This not the case for Ate Stef as she planned her birthday months ahead. 4 months back to be exact. We look forward for sponsors like her- eager, excited and very willing to serve the kids and their community.

Towards the final stages, Ate Stef decided to ride on our previous U! Can big event, Kids Olympics. The concept proved as successful the second time around as the kids and volunteers were having the time of their lives. We replayed games from Kids Olympics- Agawan Base, Patintero and Tumbang Preso. We divided the 24 pairs to 12 teams of kids and volunteers.

Prior to the main activity, the kids had the chance to “Paint their Future”. They were divided into 4 groups and they had the liberty to design what they want their future to be. This has always been a great activity to imbed long term thinking among the kids.

We had a feast after that as Ate Stef and friends had two carts- dirty ice cream and different type of balls to add to the food they already prepared for everyone. A short magic show from Kuya Ronnie followed. Though our team sees “magic” all the time, we still enjoy it as we see kids in delight. 🙂

Thanks once again for Ate Stef and her team from Abbott. Thank U! as well for some of our volunteers who came and joined in with the celebration. If you wish to partner with Virlanie, one of the many children of the Philippines who need help, let us know. Their map is also attached.
